چکیده
Background Traditionally, the plant was used for various diseases, including neuronal disorders. To evaluate neuroprotective activity of Hibiscus vitifolius L. against Colchicine induced Alzheimer’s disease in rat model. Method Neuroprotective carried out by on Sprague-Dawley rats. cerebrum colchicine lesion. The behavioural assessments such as locomotor activity, spatial navigation task, open field were studied along with histopathological studies. Result Methanolic extract L, showed increase and task significant decrease lipid peroxidation (LPO) superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione (GSH), total thiol acetylcholinesterase (AChE) Activity levels treated groups compared to Control group anti-alzheimer’s activity. Conclusion methanolic

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE The roots of Hibiscus vitifolius Linn. (Malvaceae) is used for the treatment of jaundice in the folklore system of medicine in India. This study is an attempt to evaluate the hepatoprotective activity of the roots of Hibiscus vitifolius against anti-tubercular drug induced hepatotoxicity. MATERIALS AND METHODS Hepatotoxicity was induced in albino rats of either ...
متن کاملNeuroprotective effect of quercetin in a model of Parkinson’s disease in rat: A histochemical analysis
AbstractIntroduction: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neuropathological disorder involving the degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra, with the subsequent loss of their terminals in the striatum. Quercetin, a natural flavonoid, is a strong antioxidant and radical scavenger. Therefore, its neuroprotective effect in a model of Parkinson’s disease in rat was evaluated. Methods: ...
متن کاملNeuroprotective effect of topiramate against 6-hydroxydopamine-induced cell death in Parkinson's disease cell mode
Introduction: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative disorder characterized by progressive neuronal dysfunction. Growing evidence has shown that oxidative stress plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease. Correspondingly, the current study evaluated the protective effect of topiramate in 6-hydroxydopamine induced oxidative stress and apoptosis in PC12 cells...
متن کاملNeuroprotective effects of endurance training in 6-hydroxydopamine rat model of Parkinson’s disease
Introduction: Parkinson’s disease (PD) is characterized by progressive dopamine depletion in the striatum, and leads to mitochondrial and motor disorders. The present study investigated the effect of moderate endurance training on motor disorder and mRNA expression of PPAR-γ, PGC-1α and BDNF in 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) rat model of PD Materials and Methods: Thirty two male Wistar rats were di...
متن کاملBerberine Chloride Pretreatment Exhibits Neuroprotective Effect Against 6-Hydroxydopamine-Induced Neuronal Insult in Rat
Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a rather common movement disorder as a result of the degeneration of dopaminergic neurons within the substantianigra. Current treatments for PD afford symptomatic relief with no prevention of disease progression. Due to the neuroprotective and anti-apoptotic potential of the isoquinoline alkaloid berberine (BBR), this study was conducted to assess whether BBR pretrea...
